Black Everywhere®, a non-profit organization headquartered in Long Beach, California, is now featured on the popular Netflix cooking show--Bake Squad.
Black Everywhere® began as a book club in 2012, but when participants failed to read the book, the club founder pivoted. Founder Jamaica Aali now serves as the Executive Director of the organization, which has 15,000 members in eleven cities nationwide. The stated aim of Black Everywhere® is to bring Black people together in positive ways that include health and wellness activities, community service, social events and travel. Members join for free at blackeverywhere.com.
Bake Squad is a Netflix original series. The show features Christina Tosi (CEO of Milk Bar) and a team of four professional bakers who prepare elaborate desserts for guest judges. Bake Squad prepared a dessert to celebrate the anniversary of Black Everywhere®, and Jamaica Aali served as guest judge (view trailer).
