About the Event

We’re excited to offer a meaningful opportunity to give back to our community by serving a meal to individuals experiencing homelessness in Philadelphia. Partnering with Philly House, a longstanding shelter dedicated to supporting those in need, we invite you to join us for a day of service and compassion. Here’s everything you need to know:

  • Volunteer Commitment: We are looking for dedicated volunteers to fill just 10 slots, so please RSVP only if you are firmly committed to attending. Your presence is crucial, as having a full team of committed volunteers ensures a smooth and impactful meal service.

  • Philly House: For over 140 years, Philly House (formerly known as Sunday Morning Breakfast Mission) has been a vital sanctuary for Philadelphia's homeless population. As the second oldest homeless shelter in the country, they provide both physical and spiritual support to those in need.

  • What to Expect: Volunteers will be engaged in a range of tasks including plating food, serving meals to guests, clearing dishes, and performing light cleaning duties. This hands-on involvement is essential to providing a welcoming and supportive environment for guests.

  • New Volunteer Requirements: All new volunteers must create an account on the Philly House website and sign a waiver before participating. You can complete these requirements at this link. Please ensure you do this immediately after RSVPing, as you cannot participate without completing these steps.

  • Dress Code: To ensure a safe and sanitary environment, please wear closed-toe shoes (no sandals or flip-flops), pants, and socks. Hairnets, aprons, and plastic gloves will be provided on site.

  • Parking: Free parking is available in the lot located on the north side of Vine Street West, just past 13th Street. Look for the sign on the gate before the entrance to the lot. If you reach Broad Street, you’ve gone too far.

  • Important Note: This event is for adults aged 18 and older only. We emphasize the importance of serious commitments due to the limited number of available slots. Please be sure you can attend before RSVPing, as we need reliable volunteers to make this event successful.

We’re looking forward to making a positive
