About the Event
Agenda - Take Note!
9:55 a.m. - Meet and Greet at the parking lot. There is on-street parking, but there is not a lot of it, so give yourself plenty of time to find something!
10:00 a.m. - WE ARE LEAVING! Not kidding...don't miss us!
12:00 p.m. - End of hike (approximately)
We're going to take the party to Valley Forge National Park! We'll cross a historic wooden bridge, check out an abandoned bottling plant (briefly), pass a dam, and enjoy being outdoors. I have only done this trail once before, but we'll have fun getting lost in nature.
THIS EVENT IS CONTINGENT UPON THE WEATHER & MAY BE CANCELLED SHOULD THERE BE HEAVY RAIN AND WIND
A Fun Challenge
If you're looking for a fun challenge, this is it! Nature will be all over you by the time we're done.
This is a great event to talk and get to know other members.
WARNING: Our hike is not a flat-terrain walk like the path along Kelly Drive; this is moderate hike. The trails are hilly and will take us into wooded areas, so I wouldn't recommend this for someone with serious joint problems.
Wear sturdy hiking boots/sneakers or regular sneakers with good traction.
I don't want to leave a fallen warrior behind, but I will! I'm just sayin'...
Also suggested is a bottle of water. Bug spray, sunscreen, and a hat/scarf are also helpful but not usually necessary. Bring your EpiPen or inhaler too (better safe than sorry). FOR LADIES: BRAID OR TIE YOUR HAIR DOWN...I've had an 8-legged hitchhiker once land on my hair and try to come home with me.
Leave the makeup and cologne at home, because we are going to sweat. This area has tons of gravel and rocks, and an incline to get you feeling the burn.
This is a quiet area that is frequented by the occasional jogger or hiker. Just be aware of your surroundings.
Park in the parking lot.
