Howdy y'all, I'm Kai. I've had my hair natural for the majority of my life, but I'm still a newb to haircare. I'm primarily Black and Mexican which has meant a lot of trial and error with little success due to the differing textures. Currently getting by with coconut oil to help moisturize and a weekly wash. I'm hoping to pick up some tips here in the meantime

BE Black Hair and Beauty
Intro
Hello! I’m Queen, located in Long Beach, CA. I’ve been natural for 24 years, of which 13 1/2 were loc’d. I released my locs nearing the end of 2016 and have been going through trials and experimenting with hair styles. Also, I have developed traction alopecia and am now in peri (if you know, you know). So my hair is still a new zone that I navigate. I have plenty of it but of course am most bothered by what’s missing and/or thin. Always looking for someone who specializes in healthy hair/scalp, can style within my limitations and who’s professional. I have that back home (Midwest) but have yet to make a great connection in So Cal (even after being here over 15 years, smh).
My hair has gone through it but I'm still on the journey
Hey everyone 👋🏾 I wanted to introduce myself and my hair.
💁🏾♀️ I started my locs in the spring of 2005 right before studying abroad in Japan. Then, in 2022, I started experiencing alopecia. After my hair started growing back on it's own, I made the difficult decision to cut off my locs in the spring of 2023.
🌱 Since then, I've been slowly growing my hair back out. I don't know if I'll do locs again, but I'm doing my best to be grateful for the hair I have and to take care of it the best I can. Hoping to get inspired and informed by y'all in this group. 🙏🏾

Hey y'all! I'm Aisha from New Jersey. I'm a relaxed girlie struggling to maintain health and length right now due to health issues. In a protective style right now and am here for the ALL the tips and tricks!
Hi! I'm new!!
Great to be here!
Hi everyone – it’s wonderful to see this Group. I’ve kept my hair in locks for nearly 15
years that I’ve maintained myself. I’m always looking for the next best DIY hair recipe.
Curly girlie 🥰
I'm Mariah. Anyone who knows me know it's 3 things I don't play about-- my faith, my bag, and my HAIR! 💯. These days, most people will never see my hair straightened, unless it's a pic, so here ya go lol. I love natural Black hairstyles, BIG hair, and a well-kept, full beard.😍 I often find myself watching hair transformation videos. Love experimenting with different products and love that this is a group category. Cheers! 🥂
Hi Mariah! You are my kinda girl! I don’t play about my 2 week hair appointment! 💇🏽♀️ I don’t play bout my daily change of earrings , working daily on my faith, and my bag 👜… I always wear my hair curly after the wash but let the curls fall so I have cute body days after. In the summer, I love my braids!!! Where are you from? Nice meeting you Mariah!!!
Thank you for having me
I’m a loc girly and would LOVE to share tips.
What’s your preferred method to detox your locs? I have mixed feelings about apple cider vinegar, but it does get the job done.
Hi! My name is Amber. 4C hair member ☺️. Plan to use this group to be inspired and come up with more styles for my hair!
Hi, Bree here! One of my many favorite things about being a Black Woman is the versatility of our hair. Here’s a vid of the main hairstyles I had last year. We’ll see what I come up with this year 😅
Always an afro
This is me almost 365 days a year. I don't know how to do hairstyles (can't even part straight) and I don't know where to go get my hair done in Rhode Island. Luckily, I absolutely love my fro so 💁🏾♀️.

I myself have the same issues. But I have embraced natural wigs. So I go to the salon to have them wash, condition, give me a treatment (sometimes a trim as well) and give me a wig braid down so my hair and scalp are nourished. I usually buy wigs from HerGivenHair and I style and use products in it like it’s my own.
